A Special Interest Group for nucleic acid 3D structure prediction. We meet online every two weeks to talk about the state of the field and what is new in it, from experimental data and benchmark sets to alignments, ligands and ensembles.
The SIG grew out of the CASP RNA category. It brings together people who predict, determine and assess RNA and DNA structures, and gives them a regular place to compare notes between CASP rounds.
Alongside the talks we run a Google Group for announcements and longer email discussion.
The series started in May 2023, organized by Rachael Kretsch (Das and Chiu labs, Stanford) and Marcin Magnus (Rivas lab, Harvard).
Along the way they were joined by Nivedita Dutta (University of Houston), Chaitanya Joshi (Stanford University) and Elise White (Johns Hopkins University).
We are looking for more organizers; the job is to invite 2–4 speakers a year.
Thermodynamic prediction of RNA cellular activity from sequence via conformational ensembles
From the public seminar schedule. Talk pages are the announcement notes on HackMD. Topic tags are a first draft for the organizers to edit.
The recorded talks, arranged as a 15-week course for RNA aficionados. Each week pairs two talks to watch before a discussion session. Topics move from secondary structure and chemical probing to 3D structure, dynamics, interactions, evolution and design.
Gap: no recorded talk yet on sequence alignments and covariation. That makes a good guest lecture for week 2.
Meeting announcements, Zoom links and community discussion go to the group first. Joining is the easiest way not to miss a talk.

Know someone with new methods, data or benchmarks in nucleic acid structure? Self-nominations are welcome too. Write to the organizers with the name, a short topic line and a link to the work.
